Master Min's teaching approach
I love showing students what they are capable of! It is the best feeling to teach a technique and work with the many different learning styles of each and every student, and see them succeed as they practice.
Hard work drives me to be a better Master each and every day. My goal is to open minds and make everyone not only feel capable and confident, but show them that no matter what their age, height, weight, athletic ability, they can be amazing at Martial Arts.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT TAEKWONDO AT K. H. MIN TAEKWONDO?
The best part of Taekwondo at K. H. Min is truly the people that come here. We have the best students and parents any Dojang could ask for! When I say we are “one big family” I truly mean it as the relationships we have here with our students are very important to us. I get to come to the best job in the world. A job that gives back to me in more ways than I can ask for! I always tell my students that I am a forever student as I learn so much from the students that train here. My job is to instill confidence and open their minds to the endless possibilities of their training. I feel more at ease that in a world where there is conflict and violence that at least I am in the business of making society stronger and safer. For myself, I believe Martial Arts is a life skill…just like swimming is a life skill, Martial Arts is a life skill that can save your life!
WHY DID YOU START TRAINING IN TAEKWONDO?
Aside from my father being my Master when I was very young, I started training in Taekwondo for two reasons: 1) to gain confidence as a very shy and timid child. As much as I was able to play well with other children, I had little confidence and often could not (or would not) speak to others as I would start to stutter and could not finish my sentence. 2) for weight loss as a chubby child. From birth I was a huge eater. I could out eat anyone (even adults) and it had contributed to me being a little on the heavy side. My size and race caused me to be bullied quite a bit by my peers. Whether it be fat jokes or jokes about my race, I seemed to always be backed in a corner and either verbally be made fun of, or physically beat up. It had caused me to have incredibly low self-esteem. But out of knowledge of myself, knowledge of my experiences, and my training, I gained power as I grew up and now am able to be compassionate and experienced when it comes to bullying and discrimination. I know that without my training in Taekwondo I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Looking back, my training kept me strong in times I thought I was weak and more importantly it taught me valuable life lessons…to not hate because of my experiences, but to be compassionate, understanding, and to overcome my fears and face lifes’ challenges with an open mind.
